Everything You Know Is Wrong - personal project
Design: Marta Hervás Oroza

“Everything you know is wrong” was a slogan used by rock band U2 during its 90s tour ‘ZooTV’, broadcasted through flashing screens in its TV studio inspired scenography designed by architect Mark Fisher. Along with several other forthright messages, displayed at high speed, the show intended to convey the confusion and overwhelming flow of information of the modern era of television, in a Jenny Holzer influenced installation that was replicated for the band’s residency at the Las Vegas Sphere.

The idea for the set of twin posters arises during the research for the designer’s Thesis, when coming across the recordings from U2’s show in Las Vegas and the original ‘ZooTV’ tour, and learning about its influences and inspirations, such as Jenny Holzer’s postmodern visual installations, and their connection to the research topic and the postmodern movement in architecture.

The posters designed showcase the sentence on top of a hypnotic composition, in black and white variants, emphasising the bluntness of the message.
