dream beneath a desert sky.
The rivers run but soon run dry.
We need new dreams tonight”
-U2, In God’s Country
Digital photographs taken mostly at Red Rock Canyon and Hoover Dam. The vastness and diversity of the Nevada desert is a clear inspiration for the 1987 album The Joshua Tree, by U2. Taking its name from one of the local plant species, most of the songwriting took place following the band’s visit to the area, and most the album’s artwork, including the music video for the single ‘I Still Haven’s Found What I’m Looking For’, was shot in and around Las Vegas.
